Agent Vinod Review

Hard core action, blazing guns, exploding cars, a suave spy and a gorgeous beauty... that's what constitutes this Friday’s release Agent Vinod. With an impressive cast of Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ravi Kishen, Prem Chopra, Ram Kapoor and Gulshan Grover, Sriram Raghavan directed Agent Vinod is an espionage story told slickly.

Agent Vinod (Saif Ali Khan) is a RAW agent who is entrusted with the job of finding out about the murder of his colleague. The latter gets exposed in Moscow and consequently killed before he could complete his code red message to India. All that Vinod has in the name of clue is a code message 242. Vinod leaves for Morocco where he comes in contact with Mafiosi Kazan (Prem Chopra) and also a gorgeous yet mysterious doctor, Ruby (Kareena Kapoor). He follows the trail left by his dead colleague which takes him to Marrakesh, Riga, Karachi, Delhi and lastly to London where he finally unearths a shocking conspiracy.

Saif Ali Khan in Agent Vinod Movie Still

Agent Vinod looks promising as far as the presentation goes. Made on the lines of various James Bond thrillers, the movie has already created a positive buzz around it. It is made on a budget of nearly Rs. 60 Crore and is shot in Russia, Switzerland, Ladakh, Mumbai, Delhi and Jaisalmer.  Though Saif Ali Khan has strictly asked people to not to draw the parallels between Agent Vinod and Bond movies, people will definitely look forward to a gripping spy thriller like the secret agent movies. Songs “Dil Mera Muft Mein” and “Pyar Ki Pungi” have become chartbusters already adding an edge to the movie.

If we talk about history, the spy genre is less favoured in India due to the fact that we are not eloquent in making suspense stories. But Agent Vinod could change all that for Bollywood by making it big at the Box Office on March 23. What can work against the movie is Saif and Kareena's pairing that hasn't managed to create Box Office history till date what with their last two movies Tashan and Kurbaan going down without a whimper. It will be interesting to see if they get third time lucky. If you are still not undecided whether or not to watch it, just stay tuned to this space tomorrow when we come out with the complete Agent Vinod Movie Review.
