The film has a very suggestive title that denotes that anybody is susceptible to anything, at any time, especially, the magical feeling of LOVE… The film revolves around a group of passengers traveling in two different buses, each having their own past & a reason for their travel. The most prominent among those is the love track between Kathiresan (Jai) – Manimegalai (Anjali) & the other between Gowtham (Sharvanand) & Amudha (Ananya).
STORY
It is about two lover couples, their desire to get united in life.
A soft-spoken good-hearted Kadhiresan falls for a young nurse Manimegalai, who is opposite to his nature. She is out-spoken and practical in life. Amudha gets attracted to Goutham, who helps her in Chennai when is stranded in a bus stand unable to know where to go when she lands from Tiruchy for an interview.
Kadhiresan and Manimekalai take a bus to go to go to their hometown, while Gowtham also boards the same to see Amudha and open his heart.
At the same time, Amudha takes the bus in the opposite to come and meet Gowtham. What the buses collide is what the film is all about.
What destiny has is – a life-changing accident at Villupuram! And, the two couples meet at this point to give a big twist in the story. What happens next? You, find the answer on Silverscreen!
PERFORMANCE
Jai – Oh, what a performance? Where this guy had hidden all his potentials? Wonderful acting, extraordinarily delivered! This talented actor will go places if he chooses characters like this. Well done, Jai!
Sharvanand – He doesn’t look like a debut actor plays his role with ease. He perfectly fits to his role.
Ananya – The bubbly actress does it again, after her unforgettable performance in ‘Nadodigal’. She adds big strength to the humorous track of the story with her energetic acting!
Anjali – Yet another simple and casual performance, her eyes and facial expressions are spectacular.
The debut director, M. Saravanan, a student from the school of A.R.Murugadoss, rises to heights with his well-written screenplay with a never told, simple story, delivered in a novel way, but as clear water! And, characterization work also is excellent!
The music director will bag good offers soon for his memorable tunes and good background score. Velraj’s camera has done some magic especially in accident scene. he is a huge plus for the movie.
As a whole, ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ also joins the big league of big films in content, though made as a small budget and as small actor movie, with its out-of-the-box story and wonderfully woven screenplay, and a neat performance of the characters.
